Aha

Rationalization is a stumbling block to realization.  Rationalization gives us power to justify our feelings, thoughts and actions.  Realization gives us humility to know our shortcomings and propels us to move on. It is the "aha" moment of acceptance that leads to harmony and actions.

We do not know ourselves because all our lives we only know how to rationalize.  When a fight occurs, we react.  The fight becomes the cause and our reactions are the effect. The cause and effect theory means that we are able to come out of the situation as flawless and become a victim of the cause. Even if we know we are wrong, our pride will see to it that rationalization pulls us away from the truth.  We opt for the easy answer but not necessarily the true answer.

We continue to live our lives in this way, missing the opportunity to know ourselves.  It is a very difficult path.  It is hard to judge ourselves but the truth is we are judged effortlessly by others.  We have always asked, "why others can do it and not me"?  In attempting the self-judgment path, why have we not asked, "if others can judge me,  why not me"?

I am learning to reconstruct my blindspots that a mirror cannot reflect and only others can see.  They may choose to keep quiet, or choose to share.  I must not grieve when my ill-self is brought to my attention by another.  I must remain open to allow truth to shine.  Realization is a gong that resonates within.  More often than not, we lash ourselves in bondage with rationalizations which are basically acquired knowledge.
